First Look
Last year Timex released the mega-hit and vintage-inspired Marlin, a simple time only, manual wound watch with an understated price tag. The original Marlin with a silver dial sold out almost immediately after its original launch. Giving the “Blackout” a hot ticket with a very limited run, Everything on the Marlin is the same the 2nd time around but this time with a black face and silver numerals.
Andrews Thoughts
The Marlin took the world by storm with its release and it took me with it, a complete remake of a vintage Marlin. We all know Timex makes some kick-ass watches, and every time I go to the store I’m tempted to pick up one. But no one if their right minds would think they would make something manually wound, and I hope they take this success and make more manually wound watches, and possibly automatic! The black dial version gives the piece a more of a dressier look, and with a manual movement under $200, you won’t find much that competes. The watch is perfect for the seasoned watch collector and beginning enthusiast, I highly recommended for anyone thinking about it to pull the trigger!
