Who is Christopher Ward and when did they start making damn good watches? Well first off while Christopher Ward is one of the main founders is not the only one, three friends got into business together to create the Christopher Ward brand which includes Mike France and Peter Ellis. The three friends came up with this idea and challenge in about 2004 with the sole goal to create the same level luxury as other brands but at an affordable price. With years of experience in retail but very little in watchmaking, they got right to learning the craft. With a luck of the draw, they found a mutual friend who used to work in that very field and was willing to show them around. Chris, Peter, and Mike Quickly learned one thing, and that was everything was way overpriced and they didn’t understand why. And at this moment it all started to create what they call “the cheapest most expensive watches in the world”.

I have started to see them, I’ve heard the name but when I ran into just another watch geek wearing one I had to dive a little deeper, So just like the website says “Why Christopher Ward?
Well first off they are Swiss Watches, to compete with the big boys that have to be just a given. Being an online based company they cut out the much-unneeded middleman (there go my dreams in the sales game). With that of course comes “fair margins” so they claim… but their lower end price range starting at about 300 dollars shows that may be the truth. And oddly enough something you don’t hear about much anymore, especially with an online based brand is “customer care” this is something they really pride themselves on. And it’s a bit refreshing to keep the experience wholehearted so to speak even when they are fully online. Somehow they give an old-fashioned experience in a modern way.
Christopher Ward is definitely changing up the game and making a big splash doing it! Do you own a Christopher Ward? Email us and let us know your experience!
